Chat2Kat – Integrative Psychotherapy in Reading, Wokingham & Online

A confidential space to explore the thoughts, feelings and challenges in your life

Welcome, and thank you for visiting Chat2Kat. My name is Kathleen Forrester, and I am an Integrative Psychotherapist offering both short- and long-term therapy to adult individuals in Woodley, Reading & Online.

Staring blankly at your screen while a full lists of therapists, therapy resources and services stares back? Wanting support but finding it has left you overwhelmed and staring into cosmic abyss. Wondering if someone, anyone, will understand what you’re going through?  Sound familiar?

This was me at the start of my journey into therapy.

Behind the Neurodivergence

I have Autism and ADHD and a lot of personal and professional experience of the struggles surrounding neurodivergence. I had to drop out of university due to mental health and questioning who I am, which was a dramatic hit to my self confidence and identity. Therapy was very influential in helping rebuild, reshape and regrow myself into better version of myself.

Since 2019 I started training as a psychotherapist and investigating my neurodivergence alongside it. I am now a BACP Accredited Counsellor with over 1500 client hours working with a wide range of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, life events, and neurodivergence.

I also have specialised training in Adoption Support Counselling and EMDR Therapy.

To find out more about what therapy is and how it can help you please get in touch or click the button below.

I have a BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic Counselling and work comfortably with a range of techniques and approaches such as Person Centred, CBT, Coaching, EMDR and Psychodynamic. I am experienced in delivering therapy both online either via zoom, teams and therapy platforms; Telephone, text/chat and face to face. These have been with a variety of long term and short term work. I am a responsible, resilient and tenacious individual with specialities in areas such as neurodiversity. I am a highly empathetic individual who enjoys finding situations with clients which challenge my creativity and determination to work productively to support success in others.

Finding Balance in a Fast-Paced World

A lot of time we don’t realise how much our fast-paced lives can blur into overwhelm, stress, and disconnection. Work, family, home, and daily activities all contribute to making life an overwhelming, stressful disconnected mess.

Take time to breathe.

Your First Session: Setting Goals for Therapy

Our initial session is a discussion on:

  • what your goals are from therapy
  • how I can best support your needs

Initially, we'll explore concerns and worries from your past, current life struggles, or planning for the future at a pace that suits you.

Progressive Change

As a therapist, I integrate several approaches and techniques to provide the best pool of resources and support for clients at different points on their therapeutic journeys.   The needs and responses of an individual are fluid and personal, that’s why we will regularly review progress together and your input is vital to ensure I provide the most effective support for you, as my client. Change is possible with cooperation, collaboration and connectivity.

Final Word and Feedback

My main concern is to make sure that the space I provide is: safe, supportive and somewhere you can focus on yourself, offload, and explore your worries.
